My hope and plan is to change the way the world diagnoses, treats and views those of us whose brains have their own ideas. We may be destined to be dependent on others but I hope we can ensure they all have the best information, respieces and help available. I believe together we can effect change to ensure all these things. Who’s with me?
I don’t claim it will be easy but the change to what we have today in unavoidable. We live in an age we’re technology has changed our lives yet it took me 32 years to get a diagnosis that is likely to change and no one will be 100% certain until my autopsy.
Surely this isn’t acceptable. Meanwhile the diagnosis I do have means I am on my own. No medications, no treatments and the world simply moves on without us.
Even the Veteran’s Administration still considers me ‘temporarily disabled’ and changing that is on me. Might sound crazy since I can’t even remember to take my meds but it is true. I’d be lost without my loving wife of almost 27 years.
Together we can change all that.
